it is a lift of Julie Loves who lifted it from Kim Archer.. I'm quite happy with how it turned out.. this is in my BOM.

well after having 2 cj;s for ages... I have finally done one..!!! and have made a start on the other...so you'll get them soon Ngaire.. I got a bit delayed as its been kind of crazy here.. with the kitchen reno's and then Davids birthday and mum going into hospital..then we all got stupid gastro.. I'm still feeling dehydrated... very headachey and tired.

I just recieved 3 more cj's in the mail from Angie (waving)... so I'd better get a move on.

The kitchen renos are almost complete.. the tiles are all up and down ...the stove is installed we are just waiting on kickboards for under the cupboards now...then I can take pics...

well thats about it in my boring life...

On KSK's Arty Nook with Kass I've completed the first challange. The theme was '5'. I've used acrylic paints, alpha stickers, pens, BG blitzen pp, wooden pegs, twine (which you can't really see) & texture paste.

Must finish my ATCs and get a move on with the cj's I have sitting here..

Today I went to Wendys and caught up with her and
Kathryn and Coby and met Kathryns hubby... we chatted a little then Coby took Wendy to pick up her car... thats when Kathryn noticed my perfume... yep... when I'm wanting to be noticed,
I wear.... this special little number made especially for me....

My Dad passed away.

The time seems to have gone past so quickly but at the same time, it seems like such a long time since I've heard his voice or seen his smile... today is hard... harder than any other anniversary IMO ...not sure why though...

I must pop in to see Mum...might get her some flowers..and better take her pie plate back..I've only had it a week...lol.

Bummer

Was heading to Wendys this morning to hopefully meet Ngaire and catch up with Kathryn and Kass.. I kept having a feeling yesterday afternoon that when I arrived at Wendys no one would be there... had I not finally got the message of Mark that the lovely Wendy had rang, this could have have occured....so I rang Wendy only to be told our day had been cancelled as Kathryn had been rushed to hospital...with gall bladder pain...she has had surgery to have it removed and is doing fine so I've heard..((hugs)) to Kathryn..hope you heal well and are back on your feet again soon.

On the kitchen front... some of the walls have been painted... we just need to find a colour that we like that goes with our 'apples eye' green walls now...it sounds odd...but really it brightens the place up and it looks so fresh.. Mark will hopefully finish the tiling on the walls today...then one day we have to go and find some tiles for the floor...and we are still waiting on the stove..

Ok all the talk now is freestyling and art journals... I'm really in awe of people who are doing this.. they look amazing !!! anyways ...I followed some links left by Kass on KSK...and I'm going to have a bit of a go at this.. I've just done challange #1.. I know I'm late..but what the hey..

I've used paints to do the back ground, then a little stamping, some paper and a little pic from designs gallore, some chipboard and brads.

forgot day 11

This was Thursdays visit to the hospital.. Eric got this plaster removed and another one put on.. the new one has to stay on for 6 weeks.. as his arm isn't healing..so there goes footy season..

Kitchen reno's

I have my pantry's in..so much space...it's great..
Mark has cut part of the bench away and moved it..so it's like an island bench...I've always wanted an island bench... I was a bit worried that it would take up too much room but it looks great and is very workable.. the dishwasher will be moved and we have ordered a new stainless upright oven... it took a few days to find the right one ..We are getting an Allenzi 139litre gas oven.. it's got cast iron trivets and a wok burner and inside the oven is a rotisserie..not sure how often this will get used...it depends on how much mess it makes..lol.. but its a nice looking oven and the top on it is one piece which will be easy to clean..some of the ovens have little creavices which will make for harder cleaning I think.. this won't be available 'til the end of the month.. they still have to arrive in Australia..

looks very similar to this... with out the glass lid.. with cast iron trivets you can't get the glass lid as they hold they heat longer..and the glass will crack..

The bench tops are on order and now we have to go tile shopping.. but we are getting there.. will also be taking a trip to IKEA for some shelving etc..

Wedding

Mark and I went to a wedding on Saturday in Ballarat. The couple were married on their property (gum trees all around) it was lovely...they had a handfasting and we were all given bottles of bubble s to blow...it looked great... back at the reception the tables were covered in gum leavves...the smell that kept wafting up ... was amazing.

The bride and her mother cleaned and painted all the little ceramic wombats... (80 of them) and little hats for the guys and shoes for the girls...which took them over 8 months to complete.

The bridesmaids wore blue and silver. the chairs had either a blue or silver ribbon around them... the whole reception looked beautiful.

The food was yummo...we had either vegie or chicken and corn soup, turkey or lamb, cheesecake or chocolate mousse.

Broken Arm

While at footy training yesterday Eric was tackled which is to be expected and as he fell to the ground he put his arm out and snap..

We spent hours in the hospital yesterday... and had it xrayed...and the orthepedic (sp) surgeon looked at it...they were uncertain of what to do with it.. as it is only a small break but it looks as though it is bent.. so we were sent home with a back slab on his arm and have to go back in today to the fracture centre... to have it reset..so we were up at 6.30 so he could eat breakfast...

Picked up a copy of the new scrapbooks etc.. to read while I"m waiting...better grab some lollies too me thinks....

I've started my May ATC's I'm having fun with these ones..and should be finished with them soon..

wedding card & Belindas cj

I am getting my butt into gear, I've made a wedding card for Marks 2nd cousins wedding on 29th April.. I'm guessing it's going to be freezing in Ballarat...it's an outdoor wedding...brrrrr.. We're staying down there the night in a motel across from where the reception is... so we can stagger across the road ..hee hee..doubting that we'll make it back in time for Erics footy match at 11am on the Sunday..sorry Ezza.

Also I've done my page in Belindas cj the theme is 'scrapbooking defined'

The photos are of my kids and one of their cousins when we took a day trip down to Apollo Bay and of the fires at the Brisbane Ranges in January..not too far from our place..it's as close to a bush fire as I ever want to get..

I finished this in Alisons cj a few days ago..but have only just scanned it ..slack slack slack.. the topic is 'life changing moments' and will be posting this to Raylene today..

I still have Belindas cj to do, and yesterday Kathryns and Sallys turned up...what a great idea Sallys is... fantastic.. I"m not going to say what it is ...incase anyone that hasn't had it reads this..

I so have to pull my finger out... and do something with Belindas cj and this months ATCs with the theme Woman...(see stamp used above) I'll be using this... as far as I know ... I'm the only other person with this stamp appart from the woman that made it... cool huh.. she (the stamp) doesn't have a name... I"ll have to ask Dani what it is called...next time I'm in there.

Hope everyone had a lovely easter break ... ours was busy.. Friday night we had a friend/ex SIL and her kids s tay over... went through a few bottles of pink and started on Marks scotch... big mistake for me...I felt like crap the next day... woke up at 5am with the spins and feeling very very sick... later that morning all the girls jumped into Caz's car and headed to the market, where we bought some last minute cheap but quality easter eggs so the kids could have an egg hunt..I never think to take photos at easter time...why?

Saturday night we caught up with other friends we all aggreed it wouldn't be a late one... but we were still sitting there at 1am ..lol ....we decided to go to a sale that was on in Torquay on the Sunday..what a great sale it was.. jeans $10, skirts , shirts and bags$10, $5 wallets, guys watches $10 girls watches $5 and jackets $30.... came out with a garbage bag full.. they were seconds though I don't think there were many... or samples...no biggie..

Monday we went to Melb for Marks nieces 16th birthday...we were 1 1/2 hours late...lol.. 'cos we stopped at Werribee plaza to get Dave a new phone that he HAD TO HAVE THAT DAY.

stamping class

Well I went off to a stamping class with Sam the other day... gee it was great we learnt a background technique... I think it was called 'credit card technique'... I've seen this in mags and thought it looked great... and now I can do it yay !!! the class went for 2 hours for $25 and she provided everything so that was good..the stamp shop also has a sale on till the end of May so that is cool.

Erics been sick since Saturday.. sore throat, non stop sleeping (the boy hates to sleep) not eating and a temp...footy registration is tomorrow.. looks like I"ll be going by myself !!

I still can't find that bloody magazine that I have been after and yay the lovely Sam found it for me ..just have to catch up with her to get it off her..lol..

ATC theme for this month is 'women' chosen by Melissa.. hmm I have an idea already but I bet I won't be able to get the thing that I want .. lol..its always the way isn't it.

poppets and glasses

Gave poppets a try...it was a bit of fun...not really my thing as you can see I can't draw...lol... poor Emily has arms bigger than the boys and no neck..lmao

Eric and I went to have our eyes checked yesterday as Eric has been complaining of headaches when he reads... so off we go...almost an hour later we are standing picking out frames....Eric picked out a nice black pair metal framed pair with non reflective glass $350 ..... phew... thankfully we got a 2nd pair free... I am only going to get new lenses for mine..nothing wrong with the frames.. He doesn't have any vision problems it's just eye strain...which means his headaches will continue if he reads with out the glasses but thats all...so he's better off with them.

Mark painted one wall in our bedroom yesterday.. we were going to go blue...but then after looking at all the colour swatches we went a shade of brown...called 'burlap' gee it looks nice...so much better than the crappy burgandy colour that looked like it had been slapped up in 30 minutes...I think it needs a bit more colour...on the other walls now..lol..

We got one quote on the kitchen.... scary stuff...$7000... wow...thats alot of cash dont' ya think??? it s not a huge kitchen I don't think... no over head cupboards ...we are still waiting on hearing back from one guy..

Getting there

For some reason I am having trouble uploading pics...grrr.. was going to upload Karens (KazTaz's ) cj and this months ATC...which I have nearly finished..trying to get hold of 2 little embellishments to complete the last 2 cards...do you think I can find the colour that I need...!!!

I haven't done any scrapping of LO's for ages...and ATM I'm not too fussed about it..

Eric has started footy training...in his size 10 (mens) footy boots..lol he is growing toooo fast that kid..

oooh LOST is on tonight...I love that show..but I've been invited to a tupperware party...so might have to get the kids to tape it for me....might have to take the broken lid off the cereal keeper.. I don't need anymore containeers.and if I did ..I think I'd get them from Kmart...so much cheaper..and just as good I think.

Mark is wanting to go looking at new kitchens...we are getting sick of looking at the orangey coloured bench tops...and the laminex wood grain cupboards..lol..
sooo noice.. I'd love a new stove too...one that has grill that works properly...and you can light it with out getting blown halfway across the room..

I"ve been sorting out my mags...getting rid of a heap of SM and SC mags that I no longer want... I put a little post on BB asking if anyone wants them for the cost of postage, but so far no takers..will see if a niece wasnts some when they call in tomorrow... it seems a shame to just dump them into the recycle..iykwim.. Not alot happening here... I've been writing 3 pages in my diary every day this week.... good huh...

I'm not too sure that I'll be going to ISC in Melb now...I was umming and arring about it to begiin with...but now there is a price increase.... it's put me off even more.. plus last night at the P&F meeting we've decided that we will be doing a Trivia night and the date chose was that weekend.... so I'll be saving myself money which can go towards my new camera !! and at the same time I'll be involved in raising money for the school so thats good right .!

week 4 challenge

this weeks challenge is to commit to writing 3 pages in your journal every morning. I know this will be hard at first for some, so don't worry if you can't fill three pages. Write about your life, your thoughts, your fears, your dreams, even about the fact that you are having trouble writnig or filing three pages. You WILL get better at it the more you do it.

this shouldn't be too hard... I love writing in my diary... plus I write fairly big and messy...and my diary isn't that big... I know I'm cheating..lol.. but it has to be done daily ...

Also just found out that I along with about 5 others have just won a little pack of something or other from a challenge on BB..yay for us...!!!

The theme was 'numbers'.. heaps of things went through my mind...I was playing around with text boxes in MS Word but it didn't eventuate...so in the end I came up with 5...as there are 5 of us..so took it from there.. 5 petals on the flower using 5 different pp's.., take 5, V =Roman numeral for 5, 5 pointed star...

I think I need alot more stamps to get into these ATCs a bit better..iykwim..

I'm feeling down down down at the moment...but it has been months and I mean months since I have felt like this...just trying to keep my self busy..so I don't dwell on it..

1. Started taking photos of myself after realizing there are hardly any of me !

14. I've taken all the photos out of those norty photo albums and have sorted them in photo boxes

I've been playing around on this site.. it's got some neat little games...lurve the clothes...if only they made them on fat mumma sizes..

Melbourne get together

Went to Melbourne yesterday...on one of the fast trains...I personally think they are not all that great.. the seats are crampy and I don't think it cut off that much time at all..as it got to Yarraville station it had to slow down anyway because of the electric trains... I had to get off at 'Southern Cross station' formally 'spencer st station' catch another to Flinders st station and walked over to southbank to meet up with Melissa, Sarah, Carolyn, Angie, Kass and Sam...where we had lunch....the salads all looked and smelt yummo.. lol...Kass had a cheese pizza...which I think had the waitress in a bit of a spin...'oh you can't change the pizza' lol...
It was lovely to catch up with the girls and meet Carolyn.

I'm sure we left there about 4ish... well I didn't get home till 6... had to wait 40 minutes for the train home.

girl scouts

On Wednesday Emily went to Girl Scouts... she's going for the next few weeks...to see if she likes it, she has a few friends that go so she won't be alone ..plus it gives her something to do... Don't have to get a uniform just yet..

Heading in to Harvey Normans today... the machines were all down the other day when I went... hopefully they'll be up and working today..

Need to get a new sleeping bag for David to use ...he's going on an over night hike with school, so it has to be light weight..so looks like I'll be heading into Rays also...this is part of their 'connections' program ...he's done raft building at Torquay and will also be doing mountain bike riding and rock climbing..
how good is that !!

I've been pulling photos out of those crappy photo albums.. OMG some of them have curled... :( I'm hoping that while they are sitting in the photo box...that they will straighten up a little... if not..can you iron them do you think???

Valentines day

I did make one for Mark.. and gave it to him with a box of Ferrero chocolates.. I was going to make a mini album but the time just flew..and I still haven't got photos copied ..

speaking of photos.. Harvey Norman has a special on at the moment... I'm assuming its all HN Stores... it goes for 15 days... it's 15c per photo... (6x4').. I need to get copies done of our Qld trip for the kids.. so now is a good time. .. huh.. might have to scan some old photos ... save them onto disc.. and get them done too

Rachel Greig did a random challange on her blog the other day...today I got an email from her...saying to expect a rak..I got two guesses right...lol..along with 3 other girls..

global assault and tradtions

Ok sigh of relief David decided he was ok about not going to Global assault...yay..so I saved some $$$ and travel time.. he's gone rabbiting instead..

oh and looking at Angies cj... wow.. I thought it would be dead easy but..its proving more difficult..
I've looked up tradtions.. it comes up with christmas, easter , halloween tradtions... same ol' same ol..but everyone celebrates christmas, and easter in similar ways I would imagine...so was looking for something a bit different...still searching.... my mum used to traditionally eat fish ...every friday... I don't do this... roast every sunday... I don't do this either.. do I have any traditions ????

I'd love to celebrate Halloween..but here in Aus our Autumn isn't in October the same as other countries that celebrate it....we'd have to have our Halloween in April/May ?

ohh and Emilys friend doesn't have to get her kidney removed... just unblocked.. the surgeon said...she's better off leaving it in... even though it's only working at about 28%...So she'll be going into hospital for about a week..then she'll have a few weeks at home I'd imagine...recovering...so now...I better get busy to make her a journal...

David is wanting to go to Global Assault on Saturday... not even sure if I can get a ticket still and yes ok you can laugh now... I don't know how to get to the Rod Laver Arena... I get lost easy.. lol.. I can just imagine Coby and Wendy laughing if they are reading this..but hey... when you get lost..you discover new things don't you !!!!
So I have arranged to have a navigator for Saturday morning incase I can get a ticket...lol...but shhh David doesn't know that I'm being sneaky.

I've been downloading some brushes for photoshop..some of them look so cool.. found some new sites today ...will post them once I'm done..

ohh and I forgot to rub out the greylead lines...lol..

Now I'm collecting things to alter a journal for Emilys friend who more than likely will have to go into hospital to have a kidney removed...lots of glitter and stickers and some pockets to go on some pages tied together with ribbons... hopefully it will give her something to do while she's in hospital... poor little girl.

It's making me feel a little more nauseous than I have been feeling... with this stupid inner ear infection ...
