birthday season has begun

Well it's May and the birthdays have begun....Mark has just turned 40.... was a fairly quiet day...his parents came down and one of his mates.....we are getting him a new bike helmet ..he just has to get out and choose it.. but for yesterday I made him some cards and bought a bottle of aftershave.

His sister Jenny turnds 50 in a fortnight...then we have Daves 18th ...then I turn 40.. !!

I've been sick with the flu for the last week..so haven't been going to Curves... went this morning and took it easy but it nearly killed me...lol

Just won a $25 gift voucher from a 'shapes' packet... whoo hoo.

I used Sticky tape......cut out a picture from an old calander (greyhound) covered the picture side in sticky tape... soaked the pic in water for about 10 minutes..and scraped the back of the pic of... you can just make out the dotty pp through the greyhound pic. just added some bling and hearts....

We went camping with friends up the Murray River...we'd heard it had blue green algae in it ..I did ring to check and was told it was at Torrumbarry.... we were camping just near Torrumbarry Estate and the water looked fine and there was people in the river already.


We all ened up in the water at some stage and we have no complaints... the dog was desperated to get in she ended up just laying down...although not for too long...because if you stand still the yabbies nip at you.. The next day we had some visitors of the winged variety...we had some ox heart that we'd bought Snowy (she didn't like it)...the Kookaburras loved it.

Across the river were a nest and this is a pic of the home owner...I got another pic of it actually carrying a stick to the nest... and the next day Eric got a pic of 2 sitting together...

Friends of our friends were staying in a houseboat and pulled up where we were staying...and they took us out for a cruise for an afternoon...gee it was nice.

Yesterday would have been Dads 82nd birthday

I'm in the middle of sorting and cleaning my scrap room..it's sooooo messy.


This was taken the other month at one of out greyhound walks...can't remember the other 2 dogs names (Snowy's in the middle)

Today Mark (aka ..Grumpy) got this tattooed today...I still need to get a shot of it finished but it has turned out great !! Thanks Jess !!

what a week

geepers...the other morning we get up to find that Sofi (the cat) had been out brawling..and was a bit worse for wear ..well we hoped that it was just that she'd been fighting anyways...then Dave went off to school and shut the sliding glass door to keep the cat in ...and Snowball went running full pelt at the door to catch up with Dave and the noise that followed was not pleasent... there was THUD followed by YELPING ...straight away you could see that she'd cut her head and it was starting to bruise... Emily burst into tears..and this why we were getting ready to go to school....(groan..)..Snowball was in shock so we covered her with a blanket and just sat with her patting and talking to her..

Got the kids to school, phoned the vet who came out later in the day by then I'd put savlon on Snowy's head to keep flys off it while she was outside.. Sofi and Snowy both had injections and ended up with tablets and drops...both are recovering well.. I think I'll need to get some decals to put lower down on the window so snowy can see them.. (greyhounds have trouble with glass)

the vet said lucky it was the toughened glass otherwise she would have went right through it and cut herself to shreds.

Erics been way on camp..he's text me a few times...(shhh ) no phones allowed..

it's been quiet here with out him I might add..but I do miss him

Our friend bought himself a 68 fastback mustang last weekend... it's like an electric blue colour...(not sure what the exact colour is called)..he's been bootin' around in it taking everyone for a drive..he was going to get wheels for it for his birthday I think..which will top it off nicely..

how nice it would be to have a muzzy... a nice red 66, 67 coupe.... ok it doesn't have to be red...but everyone knows red goes faster..

Birthday get togethers this weekend.. and another greyhound get together..

Monday I have an appointment at Curves...just checking out how it all works..and might think of joining..

Went out for tea the other day with Mark ...to the Langham in Melbourne....had my fill of oysters Kilpatrick...mmmmmm , crab, prawns, perch, pork, chicken, salad and desserts.....washed it all down with some G & T's..


Got myself another tattoo....a celtic heart and I was going to get the word 'Cynn' (Kin) also but the writing pushed the price a little too high so just go the heart done...well it's drawn , and the centre is coloured..and the bottom half of the heart...but my entire left arm was full of pins and needles and my face went all fuzzy..and I was feeling a little light headed. ..so when it's healed I'll go back and get it finished. Mark says I have no balls.. lol

BB challenges Jan & Feb

February - Using the printout...I coloured in some of them with watercolour pencils.....added some glitter to the blackbirds eye...used 2 triagles for the beak.. the background is sky coloured.. added a song (black bird themed)

January - drew the starfish..pated it over the top of the silver and blue painted background

used dimensional magic to make bubbles.. and added a silly song (sea themed)

The starfish also has a little dimsional magic as well..

What a fucking trail of heartbreaking devestation the fires have left... and at least one of them...the massive one in Bunyip was lit....well I hope you're proud of yourself you fuckwit..

so far there's 108 dead...

It's just so sad...but I am glad that some friends in those fire affected areas are safe ((hugs))

don't you just wish the heat would piss off... I don't like summer...I don't like to sweat... esp what it runs down your back and into your pants.......YUCK !!!!


There has been a smalll grass fire just down the road.. today... mustn't have been too bad..didn't see any smoke or smell anything.. saw one fire truck on it's way back to the station..

Hope there are no break outs today..... it's just gonna take one careless/wreckless dickhead ..lets hope they all stay home..

wedding weekend....

Marks Niece Jody got married on the weekend and even though on the Saturday when we woke it was very overcast, the weather was beautiful. The wedding was at Jody's in-laws home...which has a great view of the bay. Jody's Mother in-law made the bridesmaids dresses and groomsmens ties which were a tangerine colour..

The reception was held at a venue in town, it was great...the meals were pumpkin soup or marrinated chicken strips..followed by roast lamb with vegies...or chicken with vegies...and desert was an assortment of sorbets or baileys cheesecake. ( I had soup, lamb and cheesecake)

On the Sunday we were invited back to Chris' parents place for a bbq again the weather was beatiful... and the scenery made it all the better everyone just sat and drank and ate...until about 6 or 7 I think... Mark , the kids and I went out for tea with some of the family, which ended the weekend off nicely..

What about this hot hot weather we've been having...arrrrgh.... I wish it would stop....!!!

It rained a little late arvo yesterday which did not help in anyway...it just made it humid...

I think it's only spose to get to mid to high 30's today which is a bit cooler but not cool enough..

The kids are all ready to go back to school....

Emily and I went to see Nicole (my niece) and her baby Shaela on Friday, Shaela is so cute...she was born 9lb 6oz and has a nice crop of black hair...heres a pic my sister took.




I have seen that some people have started a photo a day thing which I love looking at but that is too much for me...so I'm trying to go for a photo a week... lets see how long it lasts..lol, but I'm a little behind...not sure where my mind was at...? I think I just lost track of days...


Just had Snowball to the vet she's been losing a little bit of fur off her rump and back legs..and it's been looking a bit pink and hot.. she had a quarterzone injection and we have to give her a raw egg once a week and sardines in oil twice a week or rub omega3 into her skin... also bath her once a week with something like oatmeal shampoo to put some oil back into her skin...I'm hoping that this is maybe a seasonal thing or maybe it's the dry food we are giving her... which we can alter...fingers crossed it clears up ..

I'm thinking of getting another tattoo....thinking either the Southern Cross and or my star sign on my wrists.....I have another idea buzzing though my head...just not sure what to do with it...or where I'd get it......

For christmas I bought this perfume myself to put under the tree and this book

Mark and the kids bought me the 'Horn of plenty' the Hunters and Collectors collction..

then Mark walks in with another pressie....beautifully wrapped with a bow... and inside the box was this..

I've been wanting one of these for like 2 yrs now.....I had no idea that he was getting this ....it was a complete surprise...and it made me cry.....haven't uploaded any pics as yet...as I'm cleaning the comp up..to make room for new software...

Hope your Christmas was wonderful...ours was...it was a long day but loved it..

As a family we got wii fit...which is great fun... I love the step aerobics... and the headbutting the soccer ball is fun too but I suck at it...lol... love ski-ing and jogging is so funny...if you run too fast you can trip over.. just not too keen on how your weight and height adjusts your mii character...lol.

Christmas that is...

We've been a little busy... we were suppose to get pay tv connected the other day... and waited home half the day for the guy to come and connect it ...but some how it was cancelled a 'computer error' I guess (rather than someone pressing the wrong button). ...no one can say how it was cancelled

Anyway ...after Mark throwing the biggest wobbly I've ever seen him throw... while I was on the phone to FT....they are suppose to be coming this week... we'll see..it's funny how they take your money straight away but it takes a week for it to be refunded isn't it....I don't want to be screwed around again... Mark will more than likely go and do a burn out on someones freakin head..

We had Ems graduation on Thursday night which was also her 12th b'day... they sang songs from 'Hairspray' it was great... It was the music teachers last day also which was a bit emotional...he's a really great teacher, the kids love him....Ems teacher played the part of the mother and did it so well..

Had a nephews 18th last night Happy birthday Michael... and going for brunch at a friends today...chicken, champagne, french toast, bacon, eggs and muffins...mmmm.

Christmasy stuff

We had Marks work Christmas do on Friday night at Moonee Valley, it was a great night....placed my first bet (ever) on a horse in the first race and it won !! had a few other bets though the night but didn't leave there with less money than I started with so that was good. :)

We had a 3 course dinner... I had... salmon on cucumber with caviar ( I think the caviar was coated in honey) gee it was nice. Followed by chicken with tartare sugared sauce on a bed of asparagus, and desert was Apple and walnut turnover with cream and strawberries.

We each got a little silver desk clock with Christmas greetings engraved on it...these were in neat little boxes, on our tables. We were seated at the front near the window and had a great view of the field as well as having little flat screen monitor on the table.

The company sponsored a race and Ian, Greg and Mark went and had their pics taken with the owner of the horse, this was while the main course was being served. But a waitress organized for their meals to be taken back to the kitchen and reserved once they returned.

We did take a few pics...of ourselves before we left home...Mark wore a suit which he hasn't done since we were married 17 yrs ago..!!..and I wore a dress..!!.thanks to Karen for the loan...and for straightening my hair.
