On the 25th Oct...my friend Karyn and I are holding an afternoon tea, to raise funds for Breast Cancer Research.

sick and some bruises.. like the song...'love and other bruises'

I had Eric home sick for over a week with a chest infection... Noice.. Em was home for 2 days with her cough... get all them back to school and bam... I get sick.. not sure if it was from what I ate for lunch or tea on the Wednesday... but boy....do I not want those pains again....and the horrid cold sweat..bleah..

Started eating yesterday... still quite tired though.. and spent a few hours in the hosp with Dave...who decided to stack his bike down at the bmx track...he now sports a lovely deep graze all up his right arm... a swollen hand and wrist on his left arm...sore ribs and hips.. we went to have his hand scanned..no new brakes but the did find an old injury.. where the bone had been chipped.. we're thinking he may have done this last year when he fell and dislocated his shoulder..??..

Have an assignment to do for class..on minimising theft, the rights of the suspect and store..

Finished the Harry potter book and now finishing another book (Pants on fire) I started reading and put it down a 1/4 of the way through it....go me..

It's afuckin'mazing....and now I'm reading a book that I did start reading years ago...but never finished... Harry Potter and the chamber of secrets.

In class we are talking about Minimising Theft, tomorrow we have a guest speaker coming in....I still need to organize my police check so I can do work placement.

On the weekend we went to Ballarat for a 60th birthday...for lunch.. the meals were average... we then went to a motel ....dropped our stuff off ...went to the supermarket to do a grog run...came back and then went over to Sovereign Hill where we had tea and then saw a light show. Had a few drinks then jumped in the spa.... it took ages to fill...it was massive... lmao...I also added some bubble bath to it...and with the jets going the bubbles were higher than our heads and all over the floor..lol it was so funny.

Eric and Emily have been home sick most of the week...with viruses...eric's got antibiotics as he has a chest infection....eww.

Been looking at getting a new phone...but our current phone provider has shitty phones...none that take my fancy anyway...so I've been looking at maybe going through another phone provider but not sure what they are like...ohhh decisions decisions..

Schools going ok.. we have an assignment on policies and procedures...I've finished mine, just need to type it up..and the other day we did gift wrapping.. which was quite timely as I had an engagement pressie to wrap, so I took that in.

This weekend Mark and I have a 60th b'day to go to in Ballarat, the kids are staying home with Sarah (thanks Sarah)..

I took Emily to the art gallery yesterday... she had to do an art project as part of her rotary challange....love the Fredderick McCubbin painting they have 'A bush burial' and some great paintings and etchings of early Geelong by numerous artists.

Not a lot else going on...

It's been awhile since I've done these memes.. and haven't been blogging as much.. but I also notice... that alot of other people aren't blogging as much either... is this because they are blogging on facebook or myspace???...or just 'cos there's nothing to say... I just have nothing to say really.

School is going ok..although we were back in the barn on Friday....brrr....it got quite windy in there...and one of the barn doors was swigging... I swear.
Last week we went on a bit of an excursion...we had to go in pairs to 10 stores.and observe how staff approached us as a customer.... out of 10 stores we were approached with 'how ya going' in 3 stores...and 1 store the service was very mechanical... 1 store had excellent service....in the others we were not acknowledged at all.... I think I'll take more notice of this from now on...because this is what we are studying...
Two of the girls went to a well known store that sells stationary and computers...etc.. after about 5 minutes wandering around...they were asked if they need help....they said they wanted a laptop...this guy got someone from the computer area...who looked them up and down...and said something like 'all we have that is affordable is this' pointing to a $500+ laptop.. the girls said 'no we want something a bit better..for the kids to play games on'...so the guy says again 'well the only other thing we have that's affordable is this one'...pointing to a $700 one....When the girls were asking him quiestions about a more expensive one...he was sighing loudly with his hands resting on the desk... and rolling his eyes... like they were wasting his time... (they were really but he didn't know that)...what a rude man...when they came back and told us were were trying to get them to write a letter of complaint...

Classes are doing well.. we were moved from the COLD ROOM (or the BARN )
the other day as we had no power...no power equalled no coffee and no heat... where as the week before we had 4 heaters going....to heat us... yes 4 on Thursday were were in is was called the purple room...which was nice...not too cold,,, not too hot..Goldilocks would have loved it I bet...Then Friday were were in what is called the red room.. when we first walked in it was nice and toasty....mmm but as the day went on...we had to strip off... by the end of the day I was sweating...I'm guessing the thermostat (sp) must be broken..

more birthdays than you can poke a stick at

Well it's been awhile since I've posted... we've been to a few birthdays... including my niece Sarahs 30th... it was fancy dress...the theme was 'Alice in Wonderland'...there were a few white rabbits and mad hatters and cards... I went as Alice Cooper... but sort of looked like Ozzy Osborne... lmao...it was a great night...some how I managed to drink most of a bottle of gin... and didn't feel too bad the next morning.

Another niece has just got engaged and is getting married next January.

Last night we had another nieces' 18th birthday.... this time Mark wiped himself off on heavy beer..which isn't a good thing... beer and Mark are not a good combination...this morning he woke feeling a wee bit ill I think it may be something called 'Karma'

We just went to the movies... and saw 'Don't mess with the Zohan'..it was pretty funny.. we were going to go and use our gold class tickets but it was totally booked out for tonight...we were going to see ' The dark knight'

After 2 weeks holiday.. the kids and I are back at school...and I've had 2 tests already... and we've lost our cozy room down behind the Deakin we are now in an old barn...I kid you not.. and old barn with gaps in the walls and drafts blowing in all over the joint... yesterday we had 4 heaters going flat chat all day to keep us warm...Might have to take some cuppa soups...to help warm the ol' body.

I've been scrapping some photos from 17 yrs ago...our honey moon...just a few of them anyway in a lovely little 8x8 MM album. and wouldn't you know it...just when I thought I'd scanned all of our wedding photos...photoshopped them and saved them to disc...I find more..'doh

I've had a sore back the last few days... I though maybe I'd got a chill in it....the heat pack seems to help for a little while... but when I was talking to a friend about it...she thought maybe it was from a bit of a fall I took at the 30th last weekend...??? I'm not too sure how hard I fell... I don't seem to recall...how embarrassment

Went out for a coffee earlier with a friend ...she bought the coffee and a cup cake for me...the icing is sooo thick I think it will take me all day to eat it...I'm not an icing person..

Going out for tea tonight with a group of friends...2 of them are having b'days tomorrow as well.

what cheeses me off and stuff

OK so what really cheeses me off is people that DON'T indicate when turning or changing lanes....aarrrgh!!!...especially when they are going through a round about......like you are on the opposite side of the round about to them...they are not indicating...so you think they are going straight....but nooooo when they get to the middle of the round about they either then start to indicate or just freaking turn in front of you... why are people sooooo ignorant...or is it that they are so god damn special they don't need to indicate??

I think I'm in a bit of a mood today...lol

Yesterday Marks family came over for Erics birthday...he's now got a wad of cash but he's not too sure what he want's...to spend it on..he's wanting the new Mario game ..but it's not due to be released for a week or so...he's also wanting another guitar to go with guitar hero...which he's been playing non stop since he got it.. I had a turn at it ...I think I got about 3 chords right and got booed off stage...lol

Nothing much on this week... the boys have today off for report writing day, got a few phone calls to make regarding a course I"m doing and tickets to Mark Seymour gig, and got the family coming on Saturday to see me for my b'day.

Haven't blogged in awhile... nothing much to write...been sick with the flu, Marks been busy tiling the kitchen, dining room and entrance hall...and it's looking great.. will put some before and after shots up soon.

The tiling is coming along nicely... and the archways are now squared off...but still need plastering.. and then the rest of the tiles can be done.

17th birthday

Today's Daves 17th birthday... no pressies today he got it the other day...we put an ipod on layby with some other bits and with some cash that he got off the family he picked it up off layby.

Karen and the kids are coming around after for cake and coffee...and Marks just gone to work so we stuck a candle in a muffin and sang happy birthday....good idea 'cos it's less candles to blow out.

The tiling is coming along nicely...still dust everywhere though but it's gonna look fab onces its finished.

So much for me working...lmao....on my 2nd day I was shown how to use the shreader....I had to collect buckets from the hot house bring them back to the shed and shread the leaves of the bottom of the stems. I'd done about 15-16 buckets of flowers and was told that I was not quick enough...I was wasting time...I'd just started getting the hang of it too..lol Not too many not too few in the bunch and swipe.. The gloves I had were cloth ....so my hands were getting pricked non stop...especially on the white roses..
I told the dude that I start a course in June and he said ok so you want to finish up today.. so I did ..they can stick their F'ing roses thorns an' all.

We just made a chocolate cake with diet coke...I've been wanting to make one for awhile...not sure of the taste as yet....looks very moist...so shouldn't be too bad..hopefully.

Yesterday Mark pulled up the carpet in the entrance hall...and bought some black tiles... the same black tiles that are in the kitchen area... after talking with some friends... and thinking it would look rather odd to have black tiles in the entrance...then light brown in the dining then black in the Kitchen....sooooo all the brown tiles are coming up too....The black tiles are harder to keep clean but look great... might have to get myself one of those swishy type brooms me thinks.

well it is in our family....sooo many birthdays ... we've had Marks, the 15th was my brothers, the 18th (tomorrow) is his sisters, 28th is Davids and 30th is Marks other sister, his brother and his brother in laws...and also a few friends in there as well.

We've been playing a wii game that I picked up 2nd hand ...it's called 'brain academy'...gee its fun...gets the ol' brain working..you can either play it in teams... or solo...but everytime I go out just have a bit of a play solo...the kids are following me ...lol

I've had my hair cut finally...well over due..and it needs another dye.. stupid grey hair.. I've gone back to having layers...I haven't had layers for years now I was sort of sick of having to freakin' use the straightener to make it look anywhere near neat. ...now I just have to mousse it and go. !!.... too easy
Still black..I think I'll stay this colour for awhile too.

We've had some exciting family news !...(won't talk about it on here though ...yet !) which has given me a little project to work on.... :)

We got through Marks birthday weekend..boy was Saturday a long day cooking all morning and my family came for lunch followed close behind by Marks family who were invited for tea..at one stage I think there 25 of us here...and all of his family came .!!!!.except a few kids...but a good turn out none the less.

We had so much food left over the following day...so that's what we had for lunch and had some leftovers for tea with Karen and Mark.

Still redoing some old layouts that I was never quite happy with...and they are turning out so much better...some I've even looked at and thought why did I even scrap this photo.. I think (as I read in the latest FK) we did want to scrap every freakin' photo that we had.

Have a challenge to do...using the word 'Because' ....I have a few ideas.. also need to make a start on the BB photo challenge....the 'geometric' one will be a stumper also...'jungle'...I think..

Got our orders from 'chefs toolbox' Deb was rapt...she wanted to my my spoons from me there and then..so she can use them in her pot...lol...I'd been waiting for them to use in mine...the timer is easy to use and also doubles as a clock as well as a temp thingy to test meat.
My party's on Friday.... not too sure who's coming ...more than likely it'll be just a handful of us..I invited 13 people ...hmmph !...but that means more paella for us...and shhhh more triple choc fudge muffins !!
