It's been a year since Mum passed away today...far out the time has gone so fast..
We are heading down to the tree today... to put some flowers there and then heading to my sisters (Linda) place for afternoon tea.

Today is the 5th anniversary of my nephew passing away...time goes so fast doesn' t it.. and on Saturday...Mum will have been gone for a year already where the heck does the time go???

I was talking to Erics football coach and the team manager ( good friends of ours) the other day... they were telling me about a fight that broke out on the other oval... between two fathers..... one father....(lets call him 'Moron') called out to his son....something like 'takle the faggot' or 'get the faggot'....yes....he yelled that out at an under 12's match....well the father (lets call him 'Good'O') of the boy whom he called a faggot went and confronted him.
Then it turned into a yelling and pushing match between 'Moron' and 'Good'O'

Its a kids game, they are there for fun..... they certainly don't need to be called disgusting names ... this 'Moron' father should be banned from the oval...I think

I think I might join the football committee...and see what can be done about this crap... I don't understand football myself...but I do help out on the committe if I can...like Pie Night... etc...

This just makes my blood boil.......grrrrrrrrrr

For my birthday I got some cash....a lovely pink (dark rose) cardigan from Rockmans and some chocolate and 2 bunches of flowers... I've been out to spend some cash already...yes I spent it on scrap stuff...lol..but good scrap stuff.. got one of the 7 gypsies self inking stamps...some lovey rubons, paper oh and glue....I'm sure someone eats the glue around here.

shepherds pie flaming...

lmao... I asked a question on a cooking website about shepherds pie and said something like shepherds pie was made with lamb mince....boy was that WRONG thing to do....I got 2.....not just 1 full page lectures about how 'real' shepherds pie IS still made with lamb mince.....and the shepherds pie I refer to is not shepherds pie but something else entirely...lol ....I will continue to make SHEPHERDS PIE the way I have been shown how to make it and I will continue to call it SHEPHERDS PIE.....yes indeedy...

The kids are back safe and sound after their trip into Melbourne on Monday.....arriving there just after it went into shut down after the shooting...boy there would have been some tense parents back here on that day...!!!

Just had to go with Mark to pick up his new bike...which is presently living in the kitchen.....yes.... thats right... in the kitchen....lol...The garage needs

cleaning out badly.....once that is done...then the bike can move in there.

The drive home was soooo long... I"m suprised I didn't fall asleep...still coughing and not sleeping properly... but I think the anti's have are starting to work.

I'm still feeling sick...off to the doctors in 30 minutes..

I've just been cleaning Em's room again..god that girl keeps some crap in her room...lol....it'll look so much better once we get the new drawers in there... just have to find the baskets....and the time for Mark to build the frame.

We get a carvan delivered on Tuesday for David to sleep in... (pulling my sad face here) he's keen to go into it...when it's ready... its one of those old silver ones... but its in really good nick and for $200 ...who can complain...its going to need renovating inside...but should look ok once its done.

We've been offered a free double bed for Eric..just have to find the room in his room for it...lol..

Mark sold his bike ...got what he was asking for it...and he thinks he should have his new one by Wednesday....he seems dead set on it coming in the house to live at least for awhile ...till we get the garage sorted. ..it is sooo full of crap..and other stuff you can't swing a cat in it. (not that I'd swing a cat, I love my cat)

He's been learning to play bass at school and now he has one... might have to look at private lessons.

sheree's challenge and photos to look at

I've done Sheree's challenge on STS... I did a 8.5x11 layout and used the rest of the paper and card to make other things... (well I used most of it)...

The photo on the layout is from a small course David did with the other boys pictured, last year through his school...

then I did a gift card for a 40th birthday we've got coming up....and a birthday card for David ...for next week.

I used a sheet of brown card, a left over bit of blue card and a sheet of Urban Lily paper.....along with some alpha stickers, rubons and stamps.

falling behind

We've been looking at secondary schools since last week... gee it's a hard decisioin to make... I took Eric to look at one school...which would probably be maybe a 40 minute bus ride for him. each way...I was quite impressed with it..It is a hard school to get into...they'll only except 180 yr 7's for next year.. and the total for the school is 900. but Eric wasn't as impressed... he seems to like the school we looked at last night which is where Dave is going.


Its been raining since yesterday morning on and off...which is nice....our water tank is over flowing .. and I must get myself a rain gauge ..I was hoping for one for mothers day... from the school stall...but alas....no.. I got hand cream, a photo frame, a nice warm vest to wear down to the footy...and some nice jammies.

I have no mojo at the moment and am soooo behind in my ATC making...I still have to make ones for 'D' ...I just can't think....*sigh*

can you give me any hints...??

The weekend

We're off to Avoca for the weekend for a housewarming/wedding anniversary/marks birthday with my family. Some of us are staying up there for the night..
I made a big pot of chowmein to take nnd a zuchini slice...which I of course had to taste test....didn't want to kill anyone.. you know... but it is quite edible...yummy infact...
I'd never made it before and got the recipe online...just googled 'zuchini slice'

No footy this week due to Mothers Day...but next week Erics teem go back to play the first team they played this year...and lost, so lets see if they can beat them this time...
Erics had his name in the paper for kicking a goal, and then for best on ground.which is good.

families !! *sigh*

we get a phone call last weekend....asking for our address...so they can send us an invite...to a family event... we received the invite in the mail on Wednesday....which states that it starts at 1.30-2.00pm..

I rang to explain that erics football game was on...and that we'd be a little late as it starts at 11.30.. finishes roughly 12.30.. by the time you get out and hom its probably 1ish....and for the last 2 weekends its been cold and wet out on the ground. ...we'd need to go home and change...etc.. then it would probably take us roughly 40 mins to get to their place...
On Friday we were told that the footy starts half an hour later...12noon...so that puts us back half hour getting to the family thing..
I msg'd to explain...never heard back...so not knowing if they'd got my msg...I rang...while talking. on the phone... I heard their daughter (16 yr old) yelling out in the back ground... 'why bother comming then' or something to those words.... the person I was talking to wouldn't repeat what the daughter had said.... when I asked her to...this kid has no respect...if one of my kids had yelled out...something like that...I'd give them what for...and then they'd have to apologize.... but ohhhh no... it was a big joke wasn't it... GRRRRRR... we are at the moment feeling like 'why the heck should we go.. but if we don't we are going to be the bastards'

Could you imagine if you were 16 and said something like that to an adult....be it family or not.... my god my mum would have slapped me one... but then I don't think the thought would have even entered my head to speak like that...

finally we have it... lol

was off line for 2 days...and I must say I didn't miss it...but I was busy.

Not much else going on... the kids had interschool sports yesterday... Eric's legs were aching today...after playing 6 games of footy... one on a slight hill...so kept him home today...

Mark and I went out for lunch with his parents for his birthday... the service was great !! I've never seen it so fast..
Mark had tempura fish, I had roast beef (which was very nice), his mum had cottage pie and his dad had tomatoe and onion sausages.

Its been raining here...hooray.. but alot of roads are slightly flooded...where the drains must be full of leaves and rubbish...

Footy training tonight... for Eric..
Tomorrow Dave has the day off.and he's heading to Melb with one of his mates to stay at his Dads place for the weekend.

We'll head in to the market saturday morning....Mark wants a watch...and need to get pressie for Em's friend....Em's got a birthday sleepover on Saturday.

Footy match on Sunday ( I think they are doing bacon and eggs that morning .) ..then we are off to a family event.....we're not going to make it in time for the actual ceremony 'cos footy doesn't finish till 12.30
