Christmas and new years

I love this pic of Mark and the kids... (Mark clowning around...being all scroogey..lol)....and look what Santa left for the family !!!!... not too sure how he got it in the house by himself though....it weighs a ton..
Christmas day started off with chocolate....as it does... the kids played around with some of their pressies.... we did the photo thing then headed off to my sister Linda's place for lunch....I think we left there about 8ish...?
We went to Marks parents Christmas eve....for tea and his mums pudding wasn't too bad this year....so I'll give her a thumbs up for that..lol...
Christmas day was a sad... without Mum around....and yesterday (30th) was the 6 month mark....wow time flies.
We went up to Maldon for a night.... Marks Dad has a caravan up there near the Loddon River.... well let me tell you ....it's as boring as batshit.... it's fine if you just want to sit and drink the day away... if you went for a walk... there is nothing but road..... and more road.... the best part was going into Bendigo when we went shopping... and I came home with a blinkin' cold sore tha feels like it has made my lip double in size .... and Mark has a cold..but he's looking a bit better than half dead today..
I can't be bothered seeing in the new year....am I getting past it..?...or is it maybe that I'm a little afraid of what the new year might bring....but we are heading off to a friends house (Deb and Pete's)..some of our other friends will be there as well, ... just a small thing Deb says... well we'll wait and see... I wouldnt' be surprised if half the freakin street turn up...lol..
Wishing you all a wonderful and safe year for 2007

Trivia night

it's over... thank goodness !

I was a bit of work leading up to it ... considering that there is only 3-4 of us on the committe.... then we only had 36 people turn up... which wasn't too bad...so we thought for our first (and may last) trivia night... we only made almost $500 after costs.. We do much better on our Wine and Chocolate nights.....and its not as much work.

Most of our prizes went except 2 chopping boards then two of the girls bought them... so everything's gone...yay...no more storing stuff under my bed..

Mark was bidding on an electric wok which ended up going for $22.... bargain huh... our friends got a family pass to Sovereign Hill for $23....which is worth about $90 I think..

Ok this does sound odd I know... as I was one of the organizers.... but I honestly did win some scrapping vouchers on a silent auction, donated by Blue Bazaar.... thanks Luise and Greg.

The kids are almost ready for camp on Wednesday.... I was a bit upset last night about it... they are all going to be gone.... !! ..Eric bought home a note today that said... parents are welcome to come and wave the children off...but there is to be no obvious cheering....lmao..

Thursday, November 09, 2006

phew

alot going on here.... we are having our trivia night on Saturday .... haven't had many bookings.... but we should have up around the 40 mark.. that should be ok..
Still have to finish the posters....and sheets to go onto tables RE:sponsors.
I've just picked up the last of the prizes today from the plant nursery... grabbed some natives.. that way...they should make it through the drought ....lol..

We have some great prizes... electrical goods, marble chopping boards, 3 plants, a car care kit, a model car, (which comes with a stubby holder and key ring), vouchers for Ballarat wildlife park, vouchers for Sovereign hill, 2 vouchers for a meal in a club near by, 2 vouchers from a hair dressers, a set of car seat covers, a mates rates tune up, vouchers and papers from an onliine scrap store, a basket of goodies from a local stamp shop. 2 bottles of red wine from one of our real estate agents.... now I just have to get it all down there...

I've had to reformat my computer and reinstall everything... sigh...

David has his arm in a sling... due to a dirt bike accident he had on Tueday afternoon... the doctors thought he'd broken a bone..but turns out it's slightly dislocated... he goes on camp next week !!
Eric and Em go on camp too.. they are all leave on the same day... and come back on the same day.... it'll be weird with no kids for 2 nights..

New theme for ATC's is Christmas.... still waiting to see who's in before I start..
On Scrappile the BOM challenge is 'what makes you happy' and we have to use sanding on the lo.
Bought a new folder for my ATCs as the other one is full, still need to decorate it ... one day...

Wow what changes at KSK..... its looking great ....but some of the changes are spinnin' me out....

Tomorrow night I'm going to Nutrimetics party...
Saturday night trivia night
sunday early tea at a friends house...this is just an excuse to have a few drinks and get on the singstar...lol

Halloween

Here's Bronwyn (my niece) dressed in her costume ready for their parade at school...

How cute is she !

I wonder if they have these in size fat to fit me ...then I could be the real Queen of Bingo on KSK....lol

challenge 1

this LO is for a challenge on Scrapping the Scraps.

which was to not use too much embellishments...but I think I may have blew it by adding the flowers...lol..it just looked a little bare..

Paperific and a new shop...

On Friday I jumped on a train and headed in to Melb to go to Paperific at the Telstra Dome.... IMO ...it was not as big as last years.... lots of chipboard and stamps...which was good... bought some nice things... and a cropadile..which I've been putting off...gee its good..!!

Will be interesting to see where it's at next year ..

Today..... I did a bit more shopping.....at Pink Hibiscus ...and I was their first customer..yay me !!
They actutally don't have a lot in at the moment ..but will be interesting to see what else comes in.
there ya go Sam ...a little plug for you.. lol

I've jumped on over to scrap pile too..and have done their first BoM challenge

Also did a layout for a challenge on scrapping the scraps...its late but done anyways..

WW & life

On Monday I had my WW weigh in, and...........................................I lost 1.2kg !!
so that's a total of 1.5 kg in 2 weeks.
I'm trying to get out on my bike as much as I can...but that wind today would have been blowing me all over the place.

Finally finished the album that I was making for Joe and Helen ..yay.. I got a photo of everyone ...even those that don't usually pose for photos... and I made sure I saved them to disc ....lol..

Last night we went out for tea with friends and family...the meals were lovely and good price too, for every adult meal you got a kids meal free...and underlined meals were $9.90.

Tomorrow we're going off to the airport to see Joe, Helen and Bronwyn off as they fly off to the US to live.

Friday I'm thinking that I'll go to paperific...at the Telstra Dome...Emily would love to come with me... so thats making me think...maybe Saturday would be better...but..at the same time I don't want to spend my whole time looking out for her to make sure she's where I can see her.. and not look at the goodies... soooo best I go Friday. A friend will pick Em up from school and I'll get Eric to ride ...guess David will have to walk..lol

Looking at Kathryns and Ngaires pages for 'so you think you know me' has inspired me to do more pages in my BoM... and I still need to finish my ATCs for this month the theme is 'B'

catch up

The last time I posted... I was feeling a bit so so..

Didn't lose much in my first week of WW but I think that may have been due to a bad weekend full of party pies, sausage rolls and UDL's ....I had 6 kids last Saturday night.... let me just say it was Noisy...lol

During the week I was around helping my Brother and his wife clean their house before they head off to the US.... they leave this Thursday ... I'm giving the kids a day off school so we can go to the airport to see them off.

Friday night just gone...we had another family night with a bbq and a slide viewing... I was very good and took a piece of fish ...which was sooo huge... so shared it around.. the others sat eating CHEESECAKE !!! and I sat with vegie sticks and salsa....I did how ever give in and eat 2 malteasers...and 5 little burger rings...but I did break them in half and shook the calories out...lol...and washed them down with a diet drink.. I think next time I might take a yoghurt with me.

In the newest copy of WW with Fergie on the front....it has the Australian finalists for weight loss... my sisters friend Stella is one of them...yay for Stella...

On Saturday I took Eric and Em to the show...Dave went with THE BOYS... we were there for 8 and a half hours....it was pitch black in the car park.... and the bloomin signs that marked the aisle where we parked were black!!...pulling out ...I hit one.. and knocked it to the ground ...oooops !!... all the way home I'm thinking...geez I hope I haven't marked the car... sure enough there is a mark...but thankfully its on the nudge bar ....phew....

Sunday I headed down to Eastern beach.... for the Mini field of women... just to have a bit of a look.... they'd chosen to put the silhouettes into the shape of a wave.... (being near the waterfront)...some of the messages were beautiful...there were alot of nurses there so I heard..as well as families affected by breast cancer.

Tonight is weigh in night...hopefully I've lost a bit more..

I started on Monday...and went to my first meeting Monday night... it is free registration at the momemt...so saved $33.

Not sure how I'm going to go....I start off well but then lose motivation....I think it would be good for all of us to eat a little healthier... went walking yesterday ..haven't been today as yet.

I'm going to get David to fix my bike up on the weekend so I can go riding..

wildlife park

Last weekend we went to Ballarat wildlife park...isn't the koala sooo cute and what about the roo hugging her joey....awww and I had to throw in a lizard one... it turned out not too bad through the glass I think...
The weather was lovely..

OMG...... does this child ever stop talking... Emily has not stopped all morning... yap yap yap yap... about everything and nothing....lol.. it's doing my head in..

Who's started christmas shopping yet??? me....!!! yes... I have started... I have one KK pressie...and some stuff for the kids...lets see if I can keep it up..and not have to do the mad rushing around the day before like last year...

Better get my ass into gear and make a card.... we have an engagement party to go to later today (my niece) Nicole's and her fiance Andy's.

Bought some lovely AC rubons from Angies and Kass's scrapanalia stash....got my HS album and plastic letters too that I bought from Donna..... and I bought some more SU stamps from Melissa.... I love how they are delivered to your door...!!and they come in a neat plastic container...how cool is that.

Went into Geelong yesterday and got some great pics of the kids on the grass near the bay.... and spent $16 on hand made chocolates .... not sure they were worth it...but .. the turkish delight ones were yum.

Today we got some sad news that Marks Nanna died...she was 93...not a bad age huh... funny thing is...its the same day her husband died 24-25 years ago.

Does anyone have any good news that we can hear off.... I'm so over all this shitty bad news...

hiya

I've been redoing Davids baby album.. from 12x12 to my favourite size 11x8.5
it comes together so much easier for me.

Also just started our Gold Coast trip...it's only a year later...lol.

Today I'm working on my roladex cards...hee hee I have to hand them in tomorrow...I'm not going to go too nuts on them I don't think as.... I have to make 14...and it's hard to have 14 of somethings that are all the same...
would have been good if I could have got the sewing machine to co-operate with me.

Going to our Dads tree to put some of Mums ashes there and then heading of to our sisters place for a bbq and slide viewing...it's been ages since we looked at some of Dads slides.

Then tomorrow..... I'm heading to Angies place.... yay.... going to catch up with some of our BB buddies....I think there is about 14 of us???? I hope we all fit in Ange !! lol must remember to bring my camera.

Hoping miss Wendy can make it ..... thanks to Mr Wendy (aka Dunc) for keeping us all updated on her progress .... more warm fuzzies for you Wendz... xxx.

Also going to the market today to buy some suit cases with wheels... big enough for the kids to fit a pillow , sleeping bag and their clothes in for camps this year... Eric and Em are going on the same days.... from the Wednesday to the Friday... not sure of Davids exact days as yet...but it is in the same week... wow... I don't think I'll know what to do.... if they are all away on the same days ...lol

I've been tagged

by Ngaire

which famous person would you most like to learn that you are descended from?
hmmm gee... I guess I'd have to say.... Queen Elizabeth I... how cool would that be !!!

which famous person would you hate to learn that you are descended from?

I'd have to say Hitler, Charles Manson, Mr Stinky, I might add to this later..

If you could be an ancestor to any living person who would it be and why?

You know I have to say ..... Mark Seymour... he's such a legend..it would be great just to sit and have drinks and a bbq with him.

If you could go back in time and meet any known ancestors of yours who would it be?

I'd say my Grandparents ... as I've never met them.

I tag Melissa, Angie, Kass and Wendy

some pics

Got some new books....The Me book and scrapbook shortcuts...which has tips for getting journaling flowing... and looks great..haven't really sat and had a good look at it yet.. but hope to over the weekend.

Also ..... finally I have bought a tote....I never really saw the point in getting one before as the only place I ever scrapped was at home.... but now that I have been to a few crops and carried everything that I needed ( I made sure I was organized) in a PURPLE supermaket bag.... geez I felt like a dick...but now I have this lovely MM tote and can also use my PURPLE supermarket bag....lol..

and yay ... I did finish my ATCs... so will get them posted asap to Coby... I really wanted to do these with an old dolls head with the blinky eyes.... I was going to mess her head up a bit...and take a photo..... but do you think I could find a doll with blinky eyes in the opp shops that wasn't too pricey... and the right size....no... so I made do with a broken barbie... cut her hair off... threw her in the garden and took a few pics... played around on photo shop... printed sanded added a few rubons and some stitching and finally some dimensional magic .... I'm sooooo late on these ones sorry girls..

Earlier this week a boy in Davids class tripped over and hit his head on a brick wall and was knocked unconcious and started having convulsions... the teacher acted very quickly and sent 3 students to the office to call for an ambulance, 3 students to the staffroom to gather more teachers.... the rest of the class were very distraught...

Two ambulances turned up... then an air ambulance....which took him off to a hospital in the city ... by the time David came to the car park he was quite grey and shaken... it turns out that there is no brain damage... he does have a fractured skull and will be off school til at least next term...

I can't imagine how his parents must have felt .... it would have been a long awful drive for them to the hospital.

Picked up our new car yesterday whoo hoo it's going to take me a bit of getting used to having a column shift ...I keep going for the floor..lol...and all the binging... it bings if your door is open ...and it bings if you don't have your seat belt on....going out for a bit of a drive soon... to finish Fathers day shopping.

The goats are at my nieces place...they aren't her goats...they belong to the landlord...the two little ones by themselves were 24 hours old when I took this pic...and the one with the mother was 20 minutes old... I didn't get the back end of the goat ...for a reason..lol..... these are good things which make us all smile :)

bags and stuff

I was very good yesterday... although I'm kind of regretting it....lol... I went to Angies....she had a 'Bag and Jewelry' party...and the thing was.... that this party had the same brand as my purse...and wow... you can get a bag with the same embossed flowers... not sure if they have alot of colours... ...but anyway... this bag I liked was very very nice.... it was red... and only about $52.. .. sigh..

I did buy some alpha stamps from Angie that she was going to sell on Ebay...great size for ATC's....might have to use them on this months ... I chose this months theme which is "dolls" should be interesting to see what everyone comes up with ..

Didn't get home till about 10...and missed the news on channel 7 which had Erics mate on it... bugger !!!

OH and if you haven't seen the stamps from SASSAFRASS LASS you need to look... OMG the bracket ones are soo cool..

Alisons list this week is to list all the smells you recall from your childhood and the memories they bring back.

I was actually smelling a bottle of body scrub today.... which reminded me of some sort of play doh stuff that my Brother and I used to play with in the bath... all I can remember is that is was white (I think)..and the smell..maybe it was some sort of soap.. you know how you get soap crayons for the kids...???

Cakes/biscuits cooking... mum was always cooking something

Chocolate pudding... mum used to make her own...,mmm I can smell it now..yummo

shepherds pie...I love the smell of this...its one of my fave smells.....this makes me a bit teary... 'cos mums shepherds pie was the BEST.. lucky I can cook it ..huh

funny how my chosen smells are all food....lmao..

We went for a drive to Steigletz the other day.....it was a bit wet and muddy...so didn't get out of the car.
You can see that the trees are burnt (from the fires earlier this year) and also you can see all the new regrowth.... It is amazing how much of the forrest was burnt !...and they were soooo close to houses.

On How Dare You the new challange is to do a page inspired by Teesha Moore... I love her work..it's so arty.. while mine (below) doesn't even compare to hers...I can call it my twist on her work...and I'm very happy with how it turned out and hey thats all that counts huh..

How dare you

I popped into Sally D's blog yesterday and found a link to here the first challange was to do a page/ATC/LO using the words 'how dare you' and finish the sentence... it's not much of a page..but I did complete the dare ...and here it is.

catching up

I fell a bit behind...but here it is... from Alisons list on her blog...

List jobs that you had as a child.

Tidying my room
Dishes
feeding the dog
Ironing tea towels and hankies (to start with)

List all the times you 'knew' something but didn't trust your intuition.
Upon meeting some people... I sometimes get a feeling that they are not good friend material... but then think 'no don't be silly you don't even know this person, give them a go'...only to be proven right in the end.

will have to think on this one a bit more !!

isn't this lovely

My niece Jessyca wrote this and it went into the book we made for Mums service yesterday.

You are the trunk of the tree that we grew from
Your strength holds through high winds that blow
Whipping up through the tall tree branches
Which nestle new twigs sprouting growth
You are the one that binds us together
You are the one who helped us all grow
Now you’ve left us a strong foundation
So as long as no branch is dropped or lets go
So now the branches should all hold together
Shelter each other from the cold winds that blow
And each new branch should know where it came from
The strong trunk from which we all grew.

I got this lovely red leather purse off the kids and Mark....how did they know that I'd love it so much..... (wink)

Waiting on hearing updates on Mum..
she's now on morphine injections as the pain in her abdo is too much for her to handle...the doctor thinks...that it could be her anurism with a slow leak in it..shes due to be reviewed today....

I think she went and got sick 'cos she knew I was going to invite her over for a roast...just her way of not eating my cooking.. (joking)

I got some $$$ too so I've been looking through the 'stampin up' catalogue...hmm too many to choose from..

Karens cj

this is Karens cj the theme was colours...don't pink and brown go well together... well I think so anyways..

Krispy Kreme donuts..

When we were out for tea last night we thought up this plan...the guys thought we were insane... actually so did the other women...lol.. I've just been looking at the website.. (drool).. my sister heard on the radio..that there were over 300 people there this morning when it opened... some people camped out over night just to get some of these donuts.... they must be freakin' good huh !!!

alisons list this week

is to list all the modes of transport you have taken..

foot
bus
car
train
taxi
boat
motorbike
ferry
plane
monorail
tram

also I've started reading '52 projects'.... it has 52 projects with more little ones written on the sides of the pages... and even though I'm only up to page 6 I'm doing a mini one on that page...which is to write 6 letters with out getting up..
so far I've done 3 (emails ...they class as letters don't they) ..

Emily's just cooked dim sims for lunch... and I don't have to cook tea tonight 'cos we are going to the sports club with some friends.

I've just sorted out all my bookmarks again... I get it so messy by just adding addys to it... so now its a bit easier to find what I want.. for now anyway.

Tomorrow we are off to the fracture clinic again for Erics wrist..hoping that it's healed and he can get his cast off.

The boys have changed rooms... the room David is in now is a bit bigger...and there will be a bit more room in there once he gets his double bed...

Junes ATCs and new book

Well I have done my June ATC's.. the theme was 'inspired by asia'.. I was going to buy a stamp and some gold embossing powder...but Dani at Rivendell cottage showed me how to do these little kimonos... thankfully I only had to make 6...'cos if it was 10..I don't think I'd have bothered..lol.. yes all the faces are different...and one has a tilty head and their hair may look a bit masculine but they are done.. finished ..packed .and ready to go..

and my book 52 projects finally arrived this morning from Amazon... didn't quiet expect it to be that small but it is thick.. will have to sit and have a look see at it later.

politics and men

Alisons Q's last week were 'whats wrong with men and what lies have the government told you' well.... I don't really understand Politics ... I should pay more attention..but I just can't... IYKWIM...they all f#$@ you up in the end don't they ..

anyways.. if you go here you'll find some good ones on the government lies...also..I will add... that it was said that 'no child shall leave school with out being able to read'.............well...what the hell are they doing about this ????? my child has difficulty in reading ...and has been assessed many times...and misses out on funding by a pissy percentage.... so he misses out ...if he had of been 2% lower...yes he would have got funding !!!! so because he can't keep up with his peers....and he doesn't warrent funding he is in the middle which is no where...something needs to be done to help these kids in the middle...tbese kids are going to fall through..and go into jobs in factories...good on ya JOHNNY ya little weasel.

(he does recieve help at school from an intergration aide that is there for someone else that has funding...she has to spread her self between probably 4 students in a class, this really isn't good enough)

ok now to men..

*they expect you to read their minds

*they can't find their socks....even though they are in their sock drawer or in the sock bag.. ( we have a bag where the socks go ..until Emily sorts them)

*they think you spend all the money on yourself. ( we had this discussion last night )... I'm like..ok.. so those 2 bills were mine.. I used all that gas and water...and all this food in the kitchen is mine..so don't eat it !!
