Well I haven't posted in over a week ....we went to the movies to see the Golden Compass which was alot better than what I thought it was going to be... worth a look if you like those sort of stories..

Wouldn't mind seeing 'the Water horse' and 'American Gangster' and the new Johnny Depp movie...Sweeny Todd


The other night I watched 'Ray' for the first time (it was on tv)..and loved it...so look above for some Ray... ;)


The sad news today is about Heath Ledger dying...he was only 28...which is a bit sad...as that is around the age of some of my nieces... way too young ..

Had a few kids over today and they all had a turn on the wii but spent most of the time out on their skate boards...by the time they'd left one of them could go up the ramp and turn around and come back down.. cooked them some snaggs on the bbq for lunch and one of them spilt mustard all down his pink top....oh ohh ...


Met up with Deb and got new school shoes for the boys yesterday both size 13 !!! Daves were on sale and the guy knocked $20 off Erics as we were buying 3 pair ( Deb bought a pair for Tim too).
Just went though all the stationary for both the boys...just need about 3 more excercise books for Eric ...Mark took Dave to get his extendo ruler, tape measure and carpenters pencil at Bunnings.

Just got to get Em some shoes and a new top and hair cuts all round..

I've been going nuts on the Mario Galaxy game...lol... I have 79 stars so far some levels drive me insane ...you get so close to the end and you die... I love it when Mario lands on something pointy...he runs around holding his butt..not that I like his health being depleated (sp).. though....and I can't fly to save myself...cos I have the special red star than enables you to fly for a certain time .

Must get back into the swing of going to bed early and getting up early for school next week....as I haven't been getting my lazy arse out of bed till 10ish.

So Karen and Hayley flew off last night for 2 weeks... to Thailand..I think I'm going to miss Karen heaps...we usualy chat every 2nd day at least if we don't see each other...
It seems to be the time to go on hols...next door (Tom and Lyn) have gone away.. Karyn and the kids are at the beach, Deb and Pete have gone away too... Mark and Callum go on Wednesday.....

The 21st we went to other night went well but it made me realise how old I am...it was at a bar in town...great place..but for us oldies that were sitting chatting it was a little loud..but nice music playing...I was driving so I was on the ol' coke ...Mark was drinking Jim Beam which were $8 a can...then they ran out of cans....so he moved onto bottles of bourbon which were $12...!!!
By the end of the night most of the youngens and Marks sister ... were blind.. lol ...girls were wandering into the guys toilet ...while the guys were there taking a wizz...lol... although I will say there were only 2 cubicles in the little girls room....NO WHERE NEAR ENOUGH TOILETS esp when you have a bunch of girls drinking...how very silly..

Mark didn't enjoy himself at all..with all those young girls wearing lovely skimpy dresses...nah ah..he hated it.....lmao.

I'm hoping this year's going to be a great one for us....it's a busy birthday year... 3 x 18ths, 2x21sts, 1 x40th, 1x 50th, 1x30th with a 50th anniversary thrown in....the partying starts this weekend.

We saw in the new year at a friends house...and god damn was it a hot night..didn't drink too much (half a bottle of wine) Karyn (the host) dissapeared a few times (to lay on her bed and shower) lol..

When we left Karyns place (David and Matt ) stayed at home...and must have had the door open...cos the ceiling was covered in thousands of thrip... and I mean thousands...I ran out of flyspray so started using areoguard (sp) big mistake....it made the floor greasy and I slipped on it twisting my ankle and wrist as I landed on my ass jarring my neck...oh what fun.. so then I get dressed and go down to the servo at 2am to buy more flyspray..I think I finished cleaning about 3am...sat and watched some BtVS and went to bed just after 4...where it was too hot and the noise of the fan was annoying so back to the lounge I went...where I could still hear next doors..it must have been too hot in there place so they are outside...needless to say I didn't get much sleep.

Gee I hope the year gets better than this. ...lol

what a surprise !! I had no idea my LO was on the portal until Jess emailed me.

Davids award yesterday was for 'academic endeavour' which they said was for making his classroom an easy one to be in with his attitude.
The hall that they held it in was great, better than sitting in the gym at their school as they have done in the past.

The kids have 1 week left of school, they are soooo hanging out to finish for the year. Em's already bringing all her stuff home....more stuff to sort through and find a place for.

the other night Mark had gone off to work..the kids had just gone to bed...and I saw the camera sitting there.... mocking me... soooo I picked it up..and started prying at it again.... it still had this battery looking thing attached by 2 wires... so I thought I cut one of the wires didn't I..... oh ohh I think that was a bit wrong.... it made this loud 'BANG' and sparks flew ....needless to say I shit myself and put the camera in the bin... end of camera...it is no more....that is after I had a look at what it says on the battery looking thing.... '330 V' lol....

I've decorated my tree that Wendy gave me.... and now I'm doing a 'H' for Em's friends birthday..I'm enjoying doing these Kaiser wooden thingy's..

The kids put up the tree on Sunday... while I was sleeping on the couch... they left the star for me to do... (its a new star) turns out that it wouldn't fit on anyways... when we first got the tree the top of our tree was way long...so we bent it over...the angel kept wobbling about on the long prong ;)

sooo we tried to straighten it.... well Dave did anyway..but the best we could get it was at an angle and the star looked like a shooting star..it was funny...so Dave bent the top of the tree back down and i modified the star with a bit of transparncy and glue and silver glitter.. now it fits and doesn't look too bad..

This year we've gone blue and silver...just need to get some more silver tinsel and maybe one more pack of balls.. you can never have enough balls I guess..

Bought some nice christmas tea towels at Harris Scarfe the other day... they were marked at $8 but scanned at $4 ..and a nice silver bowl for about $3 in Lincraft...bought some christmas lollies to go into the advent calendar and some to go into Mrs clause's apron (mrs clause is something I decorated when I was into ceramics, she's about 2 foot hight) and some into the new silver bowl..

ohhh and we got The DVD the other day...and yes our ugly head are on it..luckily I'm short and you can only see me a little bit..but the back of my head is in it quite a bit..lol

Making christmas tags and cards.... the tags were inspired by Marieke vermelens cards in the 'cards and crafts for christmas' magazine....just have to add some ribbon to the tags...and these were made with scraps of card and a rubon or stamps... I think they actually do look better IRL ..IYKWIM

saw a 'hoppy christmas' card in the above said magazine...which inspired me to to this one..

I know black isn't tradionally a christmasy colour but...I like the way this turned out...have you seen the black and silver decos in the stores.....I think they'd look great on a white tree...we used to have a white tree many years ago.

Em and I went to a Christmas card making night at Melissas on Saturday and made 5 each of these two cards..

The first one, the strings are stamped onto white card.... the baubles are stamped in coloured inks onto a scrap piece of card and then cut out and dipped in glitter. The baubles are mounted on mounting tape to make them three dimensional.

The second card the tree was stamped onto one piece of card the brads were put in certain spots..this was then glued to the next piece of card

Em also made the cuteste bag filled with lollies from an envelope.. would show you but ...the camera... ohh which reminds me because it isn't working...I figured I couldn't stuff it anymore than what it is....so I pulled it apart last night..lol.....and it bit me... yes I got a bit of a zapp from it....the bastard thing.

Christmas is coming....

I've nearly finished shopping for the boys...I have hardly anything for Em and her birthday is a week before Christmas...so I got her to write me a bit of a list...so then the boys had to follow suit (not knowing that I have their pressies)

Ems list had McLeods Daughters season 2, Rat a too eee( game ), a chair, money and GI Jockey( game)
Erics list has, phone credit, family guy season 6, zelda twilight princess (game), and membership for a game he plays online.
Daves list has Viva la Bam 2&3, Bams unholy union, SK8 wheels and other cool stuff ..

I'm decorating one of those cute Kaiser stars at the moment (one like Ngaire did)
I've decorated a pen holder for Ems teacher for Christmas... I can't take a picture because my camera is dying...or dead..it appears to be working...with out the use of the LCD screen...but...when I plugged it in to the USB port to upload the photos....NOTHING all the thumbnails were black....this is really really sad ... what am I going to do for Christmas...sigh...looks like I'll have to pull out the old slr.

So I'm sitting reading..and did you know that if you burn meat, chicken and fish on the bbq you can create cancer producing substances... !

Last week I heard that if you leave a bottle of water in the car...the sun/heat does something to the bottle and that leaks stuff into your water...which of course can have cancer producing substances .. I do this all the time..

Basically I think we're fucked.

I finally finished my Gold Coast album..hooray ! next on the list to get up to date is the house album..



We've had rain...!! we had about 60 mls in about 30 hours...

Our water tank had 350 litres in it...and by the time the rain stopped it was full ....1000 litres...which is good.

The rain has caused some flooding on the main roads around...which can be a bit of a pain.



Awww little Lucy (our friends cat) gave birth to 3 little kittens the other day...once they were all clean and dried...there was 1 grey, 1 black and white and 1 black.....I got there in time to see the black one being born... :)
