what a surprise !! I had no idea my LO was on the portal until Jess emailed me.

Davids award yesterday was for 'academic endeavour' which they said was for making his classroom an easy one to be in with his attitude.
The hall that they held it in was great, better than sitting in the gym at their school as they have done in the past.

The kids put up the tree on Sunday... while I was sleeping on the couch... they left the star for me to do... (its a new star) turns out that it wouldn't fit on anyways... when we first got the tree the top of our tree was way long...so we bent it over...the angel kept wobbling about on the long prong ;)

sooo we tried to straighten it.... well Dave did anyway..but the best we could get it was at an angle and the star looked like a shooting star..it was funny...so Dave bent the top of the tree back down and i modified the star with a bit of transparncy and glue and silver glitter.. now it fits and doesn't look too bad..

This year we've gone blue and silver...just need to get some more silver tinsel and maybe one more pack of balls.. you can never have enough balls I guess..

Bought some nice christmas tea towels at Harris Scarfe the other day... they were marked at $8 but scanned at $4 ..and a nice silver bowl for about $3 in Lincraft...bought some christmas lollies to go into the advent calendar and some to go into Mrs clause's apron (mrs clause is something I decorated when I was into ceramics, she's about 2 foot hight) and some into the new silver bowl..

ohhh and we got The DVD the other day...and yes our ugly head are on it..luckily I'm short and you can only see me a little bit..but the back of my head is in it quite a bit..lol

Making christmas tags and cards.... the tags were inspired by Marieke vermelens cards in the 'cards and crafts for christmas' magazine....just have to add some ribbon to the tags...and these were made with scraps of card and a rubon or stamps... I think they actually do look better IRL ..IYKWIM

I know black isn't tradionally a christmasy colour but...I like the way this turned out...have you seen the black and silver decos in the stores.....I think they'd look great on a white tree...we used to have a white tree many years ago.

Em and I went to a Christmas card making night at Melissas on Saturday and made 5 each of these two cards..

The first one, the strings are stamped onto white card.... the baubles are stamped in coloured inks onto a scrap piece of card and then cut out and dipped in glitter. The baubles are mounted on mounting tape to make them three dimensional.

The second card the tree was stamped onto one piece of card the brads were put in certain spots..this was then glued to the next piece of card

Em also made the cuteste bag filled with lollies from an envelope.. would show you but ...the camera... ohh which reminds me because it isn't working...I figured I couldn't stuff it anymore than what it is....so I pulled it apart last night..lol.....and it bit me... yes I got a bit of a zapp from it....the bastard thing.

Coby has been setting some ATC challenges on BB ...one was to use a pocket and hide something we treasure in it.. I had a little brown pocket that I'd been given ages ago ..this was the perfect size to use on an ATC and I had a tag from Emily's Converse's...I put some photos of the kids on the tag...used some of the lovely Cherry Arte rubons and some Basic Grey rubons (see below)

The second challenge was in the theme of decorate, Christmas. I used a string of little christmas lights some BG pp, SU stamp, Rubons, ink and kindy glitz. (see below)

The kids have their concert on this evening. I must get things organized to take.. I'm not going overboard with the food...just thought a cooked chook on rolls would be nice.. but need to find a huge rug to take for the kids to sit on and some chairs for us guys...(Mark, Karyn and I)

Well we didn't win the cash at the club on Friday night...nor any of the raffles...so we're off there again next Friday...and the cash is up to $1800..wouldn't that be nice...

Yesterday a friend (Karen) and I went off to IKEA she bought a bookshelf unit for her daughters room which will fit some baskets in it..where her clothes are stored..it should look great..Might have to get some of these units for Ems and Erics rooms.


I bought a coffee table and a side table.. the coffee table we had we like...but it's huge... and the new one is smaller and has a shelf underneath for magazines and the remotes. The side table is to put over near the other couch, near the window....for the two tables it only cost me $83.95.. both in the black brown .

I'm sure Sofi had been rolling in something that was no longer living...when we got home last night..she went straight into the laundry tub for a wash...she smells sooo much better now...norty kitty..

On Wednesday a friend (Karen) and I kept our kids home from school and took them over to Knox City to see Skateboarding Pro Bam Margera...it took us about 1 and a half hours to get there...our boys stood in the queue for 5 hours only to have wankers push through the barriers (yes there was security there somewhere)..where are they when you need them..bit like a sales assistant huh..

The crowd got a bit rowdy..a fight broke out.. cops were called (about 20 of them) meanwhile... a girls dress was set on fire.... a bag was set on fire...our kids were offered to buy drugs in the queue..



With half an hour to go..and knowing that some stupid bastards had been pushing in, in front our kids I was starting to get a bit vocal..lol..yelling out .'get the queue moving'... I think Karen may have been a little embarrassed lol..sorry Karen..



Bam left the stage at 5.30 and that was it ...show over.. we found our boys ..and the looks of disappointment and frustration on their faces...esp...Davids upset me...so now I was pissed off..lol... I launched into attack mode...at let rip at security..if they had of been doing their job properly...the losers wouldn't have been able to burst through the barriers...and push through to the front....

It was poorly organized ...

It was great to see Bam and yes he is just as cute IRL as he is on the screen... spewing we didn't really get any great photos of him from where I was in the crowd..

but ...in the end there was a nice security guard who felt sorry for Karens little boy ..who was in tears...because he didn't get Bams signature...and he was probably dead tired...so the guy went and got 2 posters signed for us.



We were all exhausted after that...then we had to bloody drive home again....I was laying in bed by 9.30...which is not my bed time at all..



Yesterday I went to Melb with my Niece Jess to the 'wheat and gluten free fair'

bit much to get in..I think @ $15...then you have to buy things in there...



Tried rice milk...which wasn't too bad..better than soy ...bleah. tried lots of different wheat/gluten free products and some yummo biscuits that were also dairy free. I bought Mark some Maize pasta...for $8 (500g) but it is nice.. we sampled that one ..



While I was out ...Mark and Mark (a friend/Karens hubby) were building a cover to go over the caravan....They have all the frame up the sheets just need to go on now...and the guttering.



I made Paella for all of us for tea...I haven't made it in awhile...and there is left overs for lunch.... I bags first bowl..lol

After lunch I'm off to Debs for a Tupperware party....Jess has done 3 partys so far...this will be her 4th (I think) not too sure what I'm going to get...maybe the slice containers..or the fridge keepers...hmmm decisions...

On Saturday Emily and I went to Paperific.. in Melbourne which was held in the Pavillion at the Docklands.. we caught the train down...worked out cheaper than driving and paying for parking... it wasn't a bad walk down to the docklands from Southern Cross station...but having never been there before wasn't too sure of where to go...we were heading in the right direction though.

Met Melissa outside gave her, her tupperware, bought my ticket...Em got in free yay for being 10... Jorja was in the booth selling tickets...inside the Pavillion it was sooooo squishy...like Jess said on a KSK very much like St Kilda town hall days..

Em did two make and takes...I did one...with opals..that was interesting..I've only played with opals once...and that was heating them in an old frying pan...this was using the heat gun...me thinks me needs one of 'dem.

We had a little rain yesterday afternoon...and we finally got to use our new rain gauge.... and it had the HUGE amount of 1mm....!!
There is supposed to be hail today sometime so the hairdresser told me yesterday...yes I finally got my hair cut and is it different !!...Then I had to go and buy dye...'cos I looked like a skunk, lol....it's going to take me awhile to get used to this do...after having the same one for soooooo long.

I can't quite get the hang of using a hair straightener...I seem to be all unco...it may take time too..?

new phone

On Friday I got a new phone and I hate it already....I should have stuck with the Nokia...*sigh*...but instead I thought I'd go the LG...well it has the dumbest msg tones in the world...and even though my kids have bluetoothed me some tones I can't use them as my msg tones only my ring tones...and the alarm...how stupid is that... I used to have a MS song playing to wake me up..but can I do that now...no...because it's too large a file to have as an alarm...so instead you have to wake up to some stupid shitty sound that LG have put on there....oohh I know..why don't I listent to the one that says....'LG LG lifes good...LG LG'

on the Nokia I could hear the phone ringing when it was set on general...but on this...I missed 2 calls and I had the volume on 7 (the highest)...so now I have it set on 'very loud' and on volume 7....i'm stuck with this freakin phone for 2 freakin years now...what a bastard....so if you have a nokia...and are thinking of changing..... what a night

Last night we went to the Espy Hotel in St Kilda to see Mark Seymour....it was for a DVD recording... and at $10 entry...how could you not have a freakin' fantastic night...!! Doors opened at 7 and I'm so glad I booked tickets and that we jumped in the queue when we did... 'cos we got up the front..and I'm guessing it was a full house or near enough ..
The band came on about 7.30 and didn't finish til about 10.30ish.
I only had my dodgy little canon powershot so the pics I took aren't too crash hot...(the one below is the best I got.).

We met some of the other forum goers.. one from the US....some from Brissie
Len and Toni ( both from the MS forum) had their cameras and got some fabulous shots can't wait to see what they put up...

It was a fantastic night... !!
